Appearance on WWL – TV Morning Show – Friday, July 22, 2011
Hey Young Chefs!
On Friday I made an appearance on WWL-TV Morning Show with Sally-Ann Roberts and Eric Paulsen! It was so cool being on WWL. I cooked three different dishes and a drink. I made my Devil’s Food Monster Muffins, Baked Scotch Eggs, and Garlic Cumin Potatoes. As a drink I made Sparkling Pomegranate Punch. If you’re wondering what Scotch Eggs are they are hardboiled eggs encased in sausage, breaded in bread crumbs, and deep fried. My Scotch Eggs are baked and made out of turkey sausage. That way it’s healthier.
Ms.Sally-Ann and Mr.Eric were so nice! Mr.Eric even tweeted ” you are going to be a rock star in the culinary world”. That is so cool! Here is the link to the segment on WWL-TV.
When the show was over, the crew raced to the kitchen to eat! They loved the food.
I had a blast at WWL-TV! Everyone is amazing there.

Oahu, Hawaii – Polynesian Cultural Center – Wednesday, June 8, 2011
Hey Young Chefs!
On Wednesday, June 8, 2011, we went to The Polynesian Cultural Center on the Northshore. First, we visited Aotearoa where the Maori people sang, used poi balls, and played a stick game.
After Aotearoa, we went to dinner at the Ali’i luau. We arrived at the PCC late so we didn’t have time do do a lot. At the luau, we watched kids perform with uli ulis (feather-topped gourd shakers) on stage. They were so talented!
At the luau, I ate kalua pork, rice, baked potato, tarro roll, chicken long rice, pineapple, and poi. I liked everything on my plate. I couldn’t believe I liked poi!
After the luau, we saw a show called Ha-Breath of Life. It was full of dancing and singing from different Polynesian cultures. We weren’t allowed to take pictures. Sorry.
The show was amazing. Wish you could have seen it.

Webster Parish Library Performance, Minden, Louisiana – June 2, 2011
Hey Young Chefs!
At Webster Parish Library in Minden, Louisiana, I performed my “Cool Kids Cook!” song again in my mom’s show. After I sang my song, I signed cookbooks and took lots of pictures with fans.
Then, we went to Moody’s Place to eat. It is a small restaurant but the food is amazing! The first thing they bring out is hot water cornbread. The cornbread is baked and then fried. Yum!
After eating hot water cornbread, I had fried pork chops with creamed potatoes and yams. The yams are my favorite!!!
Then it was dessert time! We had Peach Cobbler, Blackberry Cobbler, and Apple Pie. Yummy in my tummy!
This is me and Ms. Moody, the owner and chef. She is the one who makes the delicious food! It’s true Southern cooking.

Carnival Cruise Day 1 at Sea-Saturday, November 20, 2010
Hey Young Chefs!
During the Thanksgiving holiday week I went on a Carnival Cruise to Belize, Honduras, and Mexico! It was exciting. I ate a lot of tasty food, had some thrilling adventures, and had the time of my life. (Sing Fergie!) LOL
We were on the Carnival Triumph. It was my first time on a cruise ship. Boy, was it BIG. On the Lido Deck (Floor 9), there was a humongous screen for an outdoor theater; 4 swimming pools and 5 Jacuzzi tubs; a basketball court; and a putt putt golf course.

The view from the top deck was amazing. Here is a picture of the city of New Orleans. Pretty!
After the ship set sail, we had dinner and then we went to a family dance party at the Hollywood Dance Club. We even learned a new dance called “The Wobble.” It’s so much fun!

It was a fun ending to a great first day on the Carnival Triumph. More to come!

Super Sirloin, Twice-Baked Taters & Grilled Cabbage – Thursday, October 2, 2008
Hey Young Chefs!
Tonight’s dinner was definitely delish! Mommy and I made Top Sirloin steaks, tantalizing twice-baked taters, and grilled cabbage. Yum! Yum!
Here I am wrapping the potatoes for baking. Thank you, Aunt Heidi, for the idea to make bake potatoes with our steaks!
I made my own seasoning blend for the steaks using three different kinds of seasoning including “Eliana’s Magic Seasoning Blend.”
Once the steaks were seasoned, they were thrown on the grill. We also grilled cabbage, which came out fantastic. To grill cabbage, cut the cabbage into four quarters. Drizzle with a little olive oil, season to your liking (we added minced garlic too), and wrap in foil, leaving a little air pocket at the top. Grill for 45 minutes to one hour on low heat. Here is the recipe for our potatoes.
Tantalizing Twice-Baked Taters
Ingredients:
4 Russett or Idaho Brown potatoes
1 1/2 c. light sour cream
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. grated Pepper Jack cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. white pepper
Directions:
Wrap potatoes in aluminum foil and bake potatoes at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and remove foil. Scoop out insides of potato and place in large bowl. Place empty skins back in the oven to crisp them (without foil) while you prepare the filling. Mash potatoes. Add remaining ingredients to potato and mix thoroughly. Spoon into potato skins and bake for 20 minutes. As soon as spuds are taken out of the oven, top with a little cheese and chives (optional) for presentation. Serve hot.
For dessert, we had bananas and fresh blueberries with a little Mexican table cream poured on top. Then we sprinkled dark chocolate chips and added a dollop of Cool Whip. Talk about tasty!
Cool kids cook so get creative in the kitchen!
